Large-Diameter Deep Hole Drilling

Single-Tube BTA System for Large-Diameter Deep Hole Drilling

RuidCNC's BTA (Boring and Trepanning Association) deep hole drilling systems are designed for large-diameter, deep-hole applications where conventional gun drilling reaches its limits. The single-tube system provides efficient chip evacuation and superior hole quality for diameters up to Ø150mm.

BTA Deep Hole Drilling Systems

BTA drilling is the preferred method for large-diameter deep hole drilling where diameter, depth, or material removal rate exceeds the practical limits of gun drilling. RuidCNC’s BTA systems are built for heavy-duty industrial applications including oil and gas, power generation, and heavy equipment manufacturing.

The single-tube system design provides efficient chip evacuation through the drill tube, enabling clean, accurate holes at depths that would be challenging or impossible with conventional drilling methods.

Core Capabilities

Key Features & Capabilities

Single-Tube Chip Evacuation

High-pressure coolant is delivered through the annulus between the drill tube and the hole wall, flushing chips through the tube's internal channel.

Large Diameter Capability

BTA drilling handles diameters from Ø12mm to Ø150mm with depth-to-diameter ratios exceeding 100:1.

Superior Surface Finish

BTA drilling produces excellent surface finish (Ra 1.6µm) and tight dimensional accuracy in a single pass.

Multi-Operation Versatility

Same machine platform supports BTA drilling, trepanning, counterboring, and skiving/roller burnishing with tooling changes.

Why Choose RuidCNC

Core Advantages

Exceptional Depth Capacity

BTA drilling achieves depth-to-diameter ratios exceeding 100:1 with excellent straightness and surface finish.

High Material Removal Rate

The BTA process removes material significantly faster than gun drilling for larger diameter holes.

Single-Pass Efficiency

Drills to full depth in a single pass — no pecking required. Reduces cycle time compared to conventional methods.

Versatile Process

Same machine can perform BTA drilling, trepanning, counterboring, and roller burnishing with appropriate tooling.
